Join us at 343 Richmond St. Unit 109 for the first Okaadenige Two-Spirit Circle!
Come sit with us, and make bead bracelets for yourself, relatives or family, and learn about human trafficking, Okaadenige, and what we do to support our community in tackling Human Trafficking in a culturally safe and inclusive environment!
This circle provides support and services to indigenous, 2 spirit and LGBTQ+ folks who have experienced or are at risk of Human Trafficking, as well as spreading awareness and working to prevent Human Trafficking in our communities.
Okaadenige, an Ojibwe word that means “he or she braids things,” represents Atlohsa’s three-strand approach in reducing the impacts of human trafficking through prevention, awareness, and support services.
The eligibility for the circle is to self identify as indigenous and as 2-spirit/queer. Our first gathering will be open to people that have not had an intake yet, but that meet the eligibility criteria, and who may be interested in receiving services.
