About The Event

This is a bi-weekly meet up at Junction Climbing Centre for anyone interested in climbing with others in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Everyone will gather at the poster wall at the beginning, and go from there. 

All skill levels welcome! However, please be aware that this is NOT an instructed session and there will not be dedicated instructors or belayers present. Any new climber will need to follow Junction's protocol for new climbers, including an orientation and a safety check. Please speak to a Junction staff member to arrange upon arrival. All climbers are expected to follow Junction's rules around safe climbing at all times. 

Junction Climbing Day pass or membership required for entry (more info on Junction's website).

The crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two Spirits Peoples and the Calls to Action in The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada tell us all that we can and must do better. Queer liberation does not exist in isolation, but rather in relationship with the very notion of Indigenous solidarity.

Furthermore, QX would like to acknowledge the deeply rooted history of Two Spirit peoples. Their stories, teachings, and knowledges have always existed, and we hope to continue learning from and with them.

QX invites our community to learn more about the Indigenous communities in this area. If you are looking for a place to start, the Indigenous Initiatives department through Western University has many publicly accessible videos, toolkits, and readings to support your learning.
