June's Theme: The Four Sacred Medicine with Candace Dube.


The Importance of the Four Sacred Medicines Gathering

During June 8 CommuinTEA, Candace Dube will share a hands-on experience about the 4 sacred medicines. We'll be able to taste Cedar tea and discover the many ways it can be used. A specific focus on Tobacco as one of the 4 medicines will be offered. Participants are encouraged to bring their curiosity and questions to this shame-free, blame-free, shared space.


Join us for a delightful tea party where you can sip on your favorite blends and connect with others in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Experience the joy of community over a cup of tea at 171 Queens Ave Unit 420.


Please bring your favorite tea to share (must be new and sealed). Snacks will be provided. This is a free event but donations welcomed.

The crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two Spirits Peoples and the Calls to Action in The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada tell us all that we can and must do better. Queer liberation does not exist in isolation, but rather in relationship with the very notion of Indigenous solidarity.

Furthermore, QX would like to acknowledge the deeply rooted history of Two Spirit peoples. Their stories, teachings, and knowledges have always existed, and we hope to continue learning from and with them.

QX invites our community to learn more about the Indigenous communities in this area. If you are looking for a place to start, the Indigenous Initiatives department through Western University has many publicly accessible videos, toolkits, and readings to support your learning.
