Discover the magic of sunlight and creativity with Alex, a non-binary artist and photographer based in London, Ontario. From experimental art books to product photography and historical processes, Alex's passion lies in analogue photography—and now, they’re bringing that passion to you!


In this hands-on cyanotype printing workshop, you’ll explore one of the earliest forms of photography—the original blueprint. Using light-sensitive paper, everyday objects, and the power of the sun, you’ll create your own unique solar print. It’s safe, beginner-friendly, monochromatic fun!

Whether you’re an art enthusiast, a curious creator, or just want to play with light and shadows, this low-key session is for you. ✨

We also acknowledge that colonialization and the impacts of colonial violence are not just a piece of history, but also a current lived reality. The crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two Spirits Peoples and the Calls to Action in The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada tell us all that we can and must do better. Queer liberation does not exist in isolation, but rather in relationship with the very notion of Indigenous solidarity.

Furthermore, QX would like to acknowledge the deeply rooted history of Two Spirit peoples. Their stories, teachings, and knowledges have always existed, and we hope to continue learning from and with them.

QX invites our community to learn more about the Indigenous communities in this area. If you are looking for a place to start, the Indigenous Initiatives department through Western University has many publicly accessible videos, toolkits, and readings to support your learning.
